Chad Gillander OM, Orchestra Model, European Spruce, Cocobolo - NEW

(NEW) A new name in the luthiery world, Chad Gillander is handcrafting lovely guitars in Oneida, NY.  Gillander's guitars are a mixture of modern and traditional guitar concepts, very finely made and with a strong sound.  We are happy to be representing his work after a recent appearance at the Woodstock Invitational show.

This OM is definitely a show stopper, unique in several ways.  It is shallower than standard orchestra models, just 3" at the heel and 3 3/4" at the tail block.  This makes for an extremely comfortable guitar, and doesn't seem to hurt the tone or responsiveness one bit!  The top is European spruce with hints of bear claw, the back and sides Cocobolo.  The body bindings are also Cocobolo, but Chad picked a set that offers a complementary shade to contrast the sides.

The cosmetics are very interesting indeed, with a large radial rosette flanked by abalone rings and several inlaid gold leaf circles with pearl accents.  This theme carries through the fingerboard inlay and the peghead.  The ebony fingerboard has gold EVO fret wire.  1 3/4" nut width, 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle, long 25.4" scale length.  The mahogany neck has a modern modified low oval profile.  Tuners are Waverly with ebony buttons.

Since this guitar was displayed at the Woodstock show, it has some light marks from handling, a couple very shallow dings and scratches on the sound board.  Gillander has agreed to issue full warranty to the original purchaser of the instrument, so we are selling it as a new guitar.  Includes hard case.
