Collings MF5 Varnish, Italian Spruce, Flamed Maple, Top Of The Line! - NEW

(NEW) In our shop, this is simply as good as it gets!  The awe-inspiring wood selection, craftsmanship, fit and finish that Collings is known for, put to perfect use on a classic florentine mandolin.  We spec'd this one with a tight-grained Italian spruce top, gorgeous flamed maple, and tone tone TONE!  The painstaking varnish finish is partly to thank for that, it's thin, soft nature really lets the instrument vibrate and we think produces a sweeter tone.  

Fully bound in ivoroid, beautiful sunburst finish, bound ebony pickguard, torch and wire gleaming on the peghead.  This has the standard 1 1/8" nut width and a compound radius ebony fingerboard with dot inlays.  For hardware, we've got Waverly tuners and we supplied the (factory installed) engraved James tailpiece.  Hard case included, of course. 

This is about as fine a thing as money can buy!
