Thursday November 6th - Through her music, Liana Gabel takes seemingly familiar stories, themes, and tropes about being human and transforms them into that which is profoundly unfamiliar and novel, yet warm and comforting. Her Pete Seeger inspired original songs encourage group singing.  They rattle, harmonise and stregnthen the collective human heart. Her observations about the changing landscape of our relationships, the country, the world, and her own life clearly inform her work as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and percussive tap dancer. With a voice that  is continually refreshing, her lyrics encourage her listeners in their search for truth. She has played at the Newport Folk Festival, Club Helsinki in Hudson (opening for Lucas Nelson), The Summer Hoot, the Bon Odori Dance Festival for peace, Petes Candy Store and the Naples Perfoming Arts Center to name just a few. Her travels around the country also  include intimate house shows and yard shows from her music VANue (a Van converted to a venue for outdoor shows and community open mics).

Uncle AL is friend of the shop Alexandra Aks, an opera-trained singer who has turned her talents to songwriting.  Her haunting and personal music falls somewhere on the spectrum of spectral folk and singer/songwriter.  

Also appearing will be Old Time duo Mossy & Wiley!

The show - seating is extremely limited!  We are offering pre-sale on 50 tickets and then will revert to standing room only on the day of the show.  Doors at 7pm, music starting around 7:30pm.  $15 guarantees a seat, though not any seat in particular!  First come, first pick.  This show will be BYOB.  Please call us at the shop with any questions!
