In-Store Concert, March 26th - Aristotle Jones, Broke Boland's String Show - 1 TICKET

NOTE - THIS SHOW IS AT ACOUSTIC MUSIC WORKS' NEW LOCATION, 1219 BINGHAM ON THE SOUTH SIDE!

Thursday March 26th, 2026 - A couple first appearances from Aristotle Jones (The Appalachian Soul Man) and Broke Boland's String Show!

Influenced by rural soundscapes in addition to the music of Rock n Roll Legend Johnny Johnson and Soul Legend Bill Withers (both West Virginia natives) Aristotle Jones combines the folksy elements of growing up in Appalachia, with the soulful storytelling, and funky pocket of Black American Music.

Coining the sound "Appalachian Soul"... Jones, accompanied by  percussive guitar, jangly piano licks, snappy horn lines and a lock tight rhythm section, carries on the tradition of the making soulful, high energy folk music that  was found in juke joints along a network of Black boom towns, venues and and churches throughout the American South, and Appalachian Region in the 20th Century.

Jones and his ensemble utilize both traditional and contemporary sonics to create a "Modern Throwback" sound. It is in this spirit that the Appalachian Soul Man pushes that narrative forward into the 21st Century.

Broke Boland’s String Show is musician Matt Boland’s original music consisting of cello and mandolin alongside his "one-man band" approach to guitar and percussion. A songwriter, producer, singer, guitarist, and standup bass player, Boland’s been bringing his high-energy Punk, Folk and Rockabilly-infused live shows to audiences for the last 20 years. Boland says: “Paul Sontheimer on the cello, Dave Tamulonis on violin and Jack Hanrahan on the mandolin make a unique sound that caters to all the different styles we play. We do anything from upbeat Americana to haunting folk music.” Boland drives the beat with his percussive guitar playing and pounding kick drum, while the cello growls and the mandolin glitters. Coupled with Boland’s evocative and heartfelt lyrics, the result is a completely original, hard-to-define sound and a high-octane theatrical presentation that can only be truly felt live!
