Sunday July 12th - We are happy to welcome back Suzy and Eric Thompson!
Suzy and Eric Thompson, from Berkeley CA, are roots music royalty - they've worked with everyone from Jerry Garcia (Eric, in the pre-Grateful Dead bluegrass/jug band days) to Cajun fiddle legends Dewey Balfa and Ann Savoy (Suzy) to David Grisman (Eric, beginning in their teenage bluegrass years) to Jim Kweskin and Geoff Muldaur (Suzy, including a stint in Muldaur's "Texas Sheiks".) They'll play a mix of blues, Cajun and old-time music, plus material from Suzy's recent "Suzy Sings Siebel" (a collection of songs by 1970s songwriter Paul Siebel - his most famous song, "Louise", was covered famously by Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt, among others)
Ernie Hawkins should need no introduction to blues and acoustic fans in Pittsburgh. Ernie studied at the right hand of Rev. Gary Davis, and has spent the last half-century performing all over the world, as well as being a highly regarded teacher of blues and ragtime.
