(NEW) It's now summer of 2025 and the great Mark Dalton, the brain behind some of Huss & Dalton's most artistic concept guitars, has announced his imminent retirement. We've been privy to this info for a little while now, so we knew that if ever there was a time to create a show-stopping OM, this was it. We floated (ha, get it?) the concept of a blue guitar that would do everything but give you the blues. The results are INSPIRED.
The jumping off point was a lovely set of old-growth, reclaimed Sitka spruce. This wood has higher mineral content and already presents with a slightly blue cast, which got us thinking "how blue can we do??" We joined forces with Kim and Mark at H&D and birthed this wonderful instrument, which sounds as impressive as it looks, all day.
The back and sides are eye-popping quilted maple, and Mark's one-of-a-kind blue sunburst adds to the mesmerizing figure of the grain. For specs, we went with a short 24.9" scale length, 1 3/4" nut, 2 1/4" string spacing at the saddle. For appointments, we went with an abalone rosette, flamed maple binding and backstrip and "stingray" inlays on the ebony fingerboard. The tuners are super-smooth Gotoh 510s in gold.
This one won't be reproduced, it's as unique and wonderful as anything in our shop. Includes hard case.
