Collings OM1 Custom, Redwood, Figured Mahogany - NEW

(NEW) Our adventures with redwood and Collings continue!  Redwood has the warmth and depth of good cedar, but the strength and headroom of spruce.  It is a surprisingly versatile wood, and the combinations we're hearing from Collings are dinstinctive guitars, indeed.  For this one, we asked for a plain redwood top (not streaky sinker style) and some knockout, tight-flamed figured mahogany for the back and sides.  They compliment each other perfectly, both sonically and visually. 

This guitar has a 1 3/4" nut, standard long 25 1/2" scale, 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle, and Collings original mod V neck profile.  The appointments are standard 1 series, with tortoise body binding, 3-ring rosette and b/w/b top purfling.  The compound radius ebony fingerboard has dot inlays, and the bridge/pins are ebony as well.  Nickel Waverly tuners on the peghead.
