Collings D1A Hill Country, Adirondack Spruce, Mahogany, Sunburst, Gloss Finish - NEW

(NEW) The Hill Country guitars are now finding their way around the rest of the country (and the whole world, come to think of it!) and everyone agrees that this is an exciting time to be a Collings enthusiast!  The Hill Country series were inspired by closely studied examples of excellent vintage guitars, with the mission that the tone would push the limit of how old school a brand new Collings build can sound.  To a guitar, what we're hearing is a stronger bass presence, a warmer and more scooped midrange, but still with Collings power and clarity.  They're expensive, but they're worth it!

This dreadnought is of the Adirondack/mahogany kind, and sports the dark sunburst coloring that is particular to the Hill Country line, with high gloss top coat.  Long scale with 1 3/4" nut, 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle.  This has the original (bigger) HC neck carve, measuring .838" at the first fret, .949" at the ninth.  Ebony fingerboard with dot inlays.  Appointments include hand-poured pick guard with matching rosette detail and heel cap (unique to each guitar) and embossed Collings logo on the back of the peghead.  Nickel Waverly tuners.  Hard case, of course!

We haven't had time to shoot a video of this individual guitar just yet, so enjoy Sam O'Hare comparing the Hill Country to the Traditional model in the same woods!
