(NEW) Talk about a worthy new entry to the jumbo tradition! The Cirrus CJ-45 is obviously based on classic Gibby jumbo/slope D models, but has a clarity and confidence that transcends the average factory guitar. Cirrus guitars are hand-made in Michigan by a small team, under the direction of master luthier Mike Franks. The presentation is kept intentionally simple, with all emphasis on getting the most out of tone and materials.
This one has an Adirondack spruce top and braces with mahogany back, sides and neck. The neck is a low C profile, it measures .896" at the first fret and .982" at the ninth, a very gradual taper. The nut width is 1 23/32" and the string spacing at the saddle 2 3/16", scale is short at 25". Appointments are on the simple side, with a vintage sunburst, b/w/b top purfling and dot inlays on a rosewood fingerboard. The body depth diverges from Gibson somewhat, measuring 4" at the heel and 4 3/4" at the tail. The tuners are open-gear Gotohs. Comes in at an even 4 lbs, like some of the best vintage and boutique examples do.
Cirrus guitars never fail to impress us, these are USA-made guitars that punch way above their price point! Includes hard case.
