2021 Santa Cruz OM, Adirondack Spruce, Quilted Sapele, Hot Hide Glue - USED

ON CONSIGNMENT, NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE!

(USED) Those who frequent these pages probably know that we aren't a Santa Cruz dealer, and that Richard Hoover's guitars are more rare in these parts than many of his contemporaries' offerings.  Well, for whatever it's worth, the ones that do walk through our doors seem to really sing!!  All credit there due to you, the customers, and your impeccable taste in instruments... and instrument dealers ;)

Here we have an Orchestra Model built way back in 2021.  Seems like a long time ago, doesn't it?  It's a classic and a class act, with a wonderfully rendered sunburst over Adirondack spruce, scalloped Adirondack bracing and hot hide glue holding the box together.  The visual overachiever here is absolutely the quilted sapele that adorns the back and sides, this stuff is out of this world!  It's bubbly, it's three dimensional, it's like if The Tree had a little sister.  Nice!  Other visuals include full head/neck/body binding, a handsome single-ring rosette, and dot inlays on the ebony fingerboard.

The nut width is 1 3/4", string spacing at the saddle is 2 3/16" and the scale length is long 25.4".  The neck profile is modified V and measures .826" thick at the first fret, .928" at the ninth, so that's on the slim/fast/friendly to small hands side.

Condition is great with a few minor surface scratches, practically no fret wear and no structural issues.  The nitro finish on the back seems quite thin and there's a little sink along the center strip, and a little "washboard" feel on the entire back, observable visually and to the hand.  None of this inhibits the playability or the tone, which is very fine.

Includes Ameritage hard case.
