(USED) Here's an extremely desirable Collings dread that looked like it could have arrived from the factory yesterday... were it not for the coveted, long out of production hand-made Collings case that it's wrapped in! That's right, this D1AT is right at home in the lightweight, form-fitting Collings case that Bill was obsessed with in the last years of his life. This one is in exceptional condition with vivid purple lining.
We're not ready to stop inducing drool, though.. along with the impeccably selected Adirondack top and mahogany back/sides/neck, this has a rare 1 11/16" nut width and 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle, so this guitar will feel very familiar to fans of the original Collings spacing. The neck is a modified V that measures .80" at the first fret and .975" at the ninth. Traditional appointments include tortoise body binding, rolled fingerboard edges and faux-tortoise bridge and end pins. Under the hood, the Sitka braces are forward-shifted and there's no tongue brace. Nickel Waverly tuners.
Condition couldn't be better, no issues whatsoever to report. The weight comes in at just over 4 lbs. Again, that Collings case puts this into more rarified air, it's something to treasure.
