(USED) Ken Casper is a new name in our world and this Ann Arbor luthier is doing some fine, fine work! A great customer of ours took the opportunity to commission two of his Georgian models, identical but for their choice of top woods, in order to hear the difference that spec would make on the instruments.
This example has an Adirondack spruce top and Madagascar back/sides. The "Modified Dreadnought" concept takes some inspiration from Somojyi, known for his forward-thinking style and ultra-responsive guitars. At 15 5/8" across the lower bout, this one lands between an OM and a small jumbo, but has body depth of 4 3/4" at the tail.
Lovely appointments abound, including rosewood binding, abalone rosette, hand-rubbed sunburst finish, 5-piece laminated neck with back strap and lake inlay on the back, gold Evo frets and Waverly tuners. It has a long 25.4" scale length, 1 13/16" nut and 2 1/4" string spacing at the saddle. The fingerboard and bridge are ebony. The neck is a modified low oval shape and measures .875" thick at the first fret and .962" at the ninth. It has a big and clear voice with a strong low end presence without losing an overall sense of balance.
Condition is excellent with no issues and includes heavy duty Cedar Creek hard case.
This is part of a matched pair, click here to see its sister guitar, or inquire if you'd like to strike a deal for both!
