2018 Collings D2HT Traditional Dreadnought, Sitka, Indian Rosewood - USED

ON CONSIGNMENT, NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE!

(USED) The halfway point between the tone of Collings' original line and the new (pricy!) Hill Country line, the Traditionals were one of Bill Collings' last big projects before he left us in 2017.  He wanted to overhaul his original recipe to create a line of instruments that stood apart from his trademark high clarity, voice... but, of course, were still built meticulously and sound a cut above the old school brands.

Here's a pretty early example, a rosewood dreadnought with a Sitka top and east Indian rosewood back/sides.  Traditional guitars share several traits that distinguish them from the standard offerings: forward-shifted, scalloped Sitka braces with no tongue brace, a thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish with no vinyl sealer coat underneath, smaller/thinner maple bridge plate, a slightly higher mass mahogany neck with Traditional mod V carve, cut through saddle, ebony fingerboard with rolled edges and a subtle aging toner all over.  This one has a 1 3/4" nut, 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle and the Traditional 2 style trim including fine herringbone top purfling, 3-ring rosette and zipper back strip.  The tuners are nickel Waverly machines.

Condition here is excellent with a few winder marks on the peghead and one noticeable ding on the treble side (pictured).  Hardly any fret wear to speak of.  Includes TKL hard case.
