2000s Deering Calico Bluegrass Banjo, Maple - USED

(USED) A very handsome banjo from the Deering company, this Calico has the sharp look of natural flamed maple (albeit with an amber tint) combined with aesthetically pleasing touches like marquetry purfling on the resonator and along the running length of the neck, and the delightful Calico inlay scheme inlaid in abalone on a dark ebony fingerboard. The Calico banjos feature tapered resonator walls which allow for greater projection and a far more pure and focused tone. The heart of the Deering Calico banjo is the Deering bronze tone-ring, precisely fitted to the three ply maple rim. The Deering -06- tone ring produces a beautiful, balanced overtone spectrum. 26" scale length and planetary tuners.  High gloss finish.

Condition is excellent and then some. It has virtually zero fret wear and the slightest tarnish on some of the nickel hardware.  The banjo presents as nearly un-played. Includes DEERING hard case.
