(NEW) Our friends at Troublesome Creek Stringed Instruments are not only making excellent guitars and mandolins, they are also making a difference in their community, providing luthiery training and jobs to people in recovery. This sense of hope and purpose definitely shows in the product, and we have a hard time playing their Honeybee mandolin without a big smile on our faces!
We often have this model in an oval hole configuration, but here is a rare F hole example, with torrefied Adirondack spruce top and figured black walnut back/sides. It isn't a true flat-top mandolin, it is built with a subtle arch that increases the complexity of the tone in all the right ways. It has a 1 1/8" nut and 2 5/8" string spacing at the bridge. The fingerboard is ebony, no radius with pearl dot inlays. The ebony bridge is compensated but non-adjustable (don't worry, the setup is great!) High gloss finish, Golden Age tuners with black buttons. Includes hard case!
It's hard to not feel good playing a Troublesome Creek mandolin! One of the best causes in the musical instrument world!
