Scott Conley Maple D, Adirondack Spruce, Maple - USED

ON CONSIGNMENT, NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE!

(USED) We've had a few Conley guitars come through our shop in the last few years (he of Bowdoinham, Maine, and formerly of Bourgeois Guitars) and we have been impressed with not only the construction of the instruments, but also the materials selection and of course the strong sound that they produce.  For dreadnought fans who are looking for something out of the ordinary, the guts-y, husky sound of maple can be a total head-turner!  The projection is out of this world, and the growl produced by maple on a square-shouldered dread is extremely satisfying.

This one has a tight-grained Adirondack spruce top and some glorious flamed maple on the back, sides and back strap on the peg head.  It has a very comfortable low oval neck profile on a mahogany neck, with a 1 23/32" nut and 2 1/8" string spacing at the saddle.  The fingerboard, bridge and pins are ebony, and the fingerboard has snowflake inlays.  The guitar is fully bound in ivoroid, and the end-wedge and peghead overlay are figured rosewood.

The bracing pattern is forward-shifted and scalloped, the bridge plate is maple and there is no tongue brace.  The tuners are Waverly.

This is a very, very fine instrument!  It reminds us, aesthetically of some of the great '70s folk guitars (Mossman et al) but has a quicker response and more of a vintage tint to the sound.  Conley is certainly one to watch!
