Pisgah Dobson Custom, 11" Open-Back, Half-Fretless, Brass Rim, Skin Head - NEW

(NEW) This new custom Pisgah is currently casting a cloud of intimidation on every other open-back in the store... some of the reso banjos, too!  A bespoke powerhouse of an instrument, this one is custom all the way, with brass spun-over rim, brass hardware including a plate that makes it fretless up to the 8th fret, and another plate under the scoop.  It has a Dobson tone ring and a goat skin head, which work together to bring a highly complex yet very muscular sound.  

This instrument is short scale (25 1/2" inches) and the neck is cherry with vintage heel.  It has the Pisgah Hawkeye tailpiece and is spiked at the 7th fret.  Not for the faint of heart, this banjo weighs in at 7lbs, 6oz.  Includes Pisgah soft case, or inquire to upgrade to hardshell.
