(NEW) One of the instruments we were most looking forward to on our first Northfield order was the fabled Big Mon.  This F-Style mandolin has slightly increased proportions (5mm wider at its widest point) which results in not only more volume, but a more pronounced throaty midrange and bass response.  Think of it as "F Extra!"

This mandolin has a Special Engelmann spruce top and a single-piece figured maple back.  The fingerboard and bridge are ebony.  For hardware, there are Gotoh tuners and a nickel-plated engraved Gilchrist/Northfield tailpiece.  The pick guard is bound ebony.  Standard 1 1/8" nut width.  Hybrid varnish finish with vintage sunburst.  Includes the Airloom "Recurve" case.
