Kevin Kopp RJ CR, Adirondack Spruce, Mahogany, Black Closet Relic Finish - NEW

(NEW) Mr. Kopp has done it again!  With his signature mix of luthiery wizardry, years of experience and well-seasoned lumber, Kevin Kopp has crafted another small guitar that punches way above its weight, in fact, it punched our socks right off!  While we start searching around for newer, tighter socks, you can feast your eyes on the latest Kevin Kopp creation, the RJ model in fetching black "Closet Relic" finish!

This model, based on the early 1900s Gibson L guitar that famously appeared in a photograph with blues titan Robert Johnson, is pretty unique among our offerings.  It has a small body and a tight waist, and a 12-fret neck joint that really ratchets up the bass response.  This one sports a lively Adirondack spruce top and braces, with mahogany back, sides and neck.  It has a short 24 5/8" scale length, with 1 3/4" nut width and 2 1/4" string spacing at the saddle.  The fingerboard and bridge are Madagascar rosewood, and the neck has a comfortable "C" shape.  Relic'd Waverly tuners with ebony buttons.

The secret weapon on this guitar is Kopp's "Closet Relic" finish, a lacquer sprayed ultra-thin for increased responsiveness and volume.  It's working its magic on this guitar; it really sings the blues.  We would be hard pressed to find a more fun fingerpicker in the shop right now!  Includes original TKL hard case.
