This lovely example of the popular I-35LC Vintage is colored aged jet black, with subtle lacquer checking introduced on the body and the peghead (not on the shaft of the neck) and some tarnish and amber work done on the hardware.  It's a cool look, for sure, but what we like about it is that it means you don't need to tip-toe around with your shiny new Collings... a level of comfort is instantly achieved, and you can get down to the business of playing. 

The Pickups are ThroBak ESG-102B, which players love for the high level of detail in the tone, and a somewhat higher saturation point when compared to the I-35 LC's standard Lollar Imperials.  

Another change from the standard I-35 LC is the slimmer '60s neck carve and the fact that it comes stock with .10s.  The idea is a faster neck and deeper bends.  The nut width is still 1 11/16" and the short scale length remains 24 7/8".  Rosewood fingerboard with 12" radius.  This guitar weighs in at 6 lbs 10 oz.  

The bridge hardware is Kluson, the tuners are Nickel Gotoh w/ Collings logo.  As always, includes a high quality Ameritage hardshell case.
