(NEW) Powerful rosewood tone, Collings projection and volume, a bluegrass beast for the ages! This D2HAT is an excellent example of why Collings hovers at the tip-top in the world of dreadnoughts. The Traditional line was developed in the years before Bill Collings' passing as an answer to the call for a warmer guitar right out of the box, one that had more of the hallmarks of a vintage instrument, and the series has been wildly popular ever since. Differences from the standard line: lighter overall build, thinner, pure nitrocellulose finish, forward-shifted scalloped bracing with no tongue brace, smaller maple bridge plate, rolled fingerboard edges and cosmetic touches that are unique to the line.
This dread has a creamy Adirondack spruce top (yes, they still get the best Adi tops at Collings!) with Indian rosewood back/sides and a mahogany neck. Traditional guitars come standard with 1 3/4" nut, 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle and Collings' 25 1/2" long scale. Ebony fingerboard with diamond/square inlays. Ebony bridge with bone pins and cut-through saddle. Waverly open-gear tuners. Includes original hard case.
Year after year, pound for pound, some of the highest-performance guitars in our shop! If you haven't played a Traditional Collings yet, what are you waiting for??
