(NEW) We'll remember 2017 for many reasons, but as far as sales and enthusiasm for particular instruments, we'll probably remember it most as the Year of the Traditionals. If you've been watching the site, you know that we're going big with these, and that we can't say enough good about them. They really appear to be an evolutionary step for Collings guitars, marrying their signature brilliant tone and power with the warmth and bass response that we all love in older guitars.
This D1 Traditional has a beautiful, tight-grained Sitka spruce top and Honduras mahogany back and sides. Traditional features include a new neck carve based on the "Vintage Now" profile, 1 3/4" nut, 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle, fish glue construction, rolled fingerboard edges, newly designed purfling and rosette, cut-through saddle, no tongue brace. This is a light one by Collings' standards, and the sound is warm and rich with a quick response. Might be the one to have if you're going to have just one!
Includes TKL 5-ply case.
