Collings Baby 1G, German Spruce, Flamed Maple, 1 3/4" Nut - NEW

(NEW) Once every year or two we ask Collings to build us a Baby Collings that will be impossible to ignore, and our first Baby of 2023 is as strong as we've heard!  This Baby 1G is intended to have not just the delightful form factor of a super-comfy, super-small guitar, it was also designed to be tonally complex.  

It all starts with the top, in this case tight-grained German spruce.  You can't have a Blonde Baby without some nice looking maple, and that's exactly what you see here.  We've said many times that maple is a very underrated tone wood, and this Baby proves its potency on small guitars. 

We went for the contrast with the tortoise binding, body, neck and peghead.  For specs, it's a short 24 1/8" scale, 1 3/4" nut, 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle.  The neck is the modified V profile, the tuners are Waverly.  Includes custom fit TKL hard case.
