(USED) It's important to follow your heart when it comes to musical instruments... after all, music ain't supposed to be a chess match. That said, if you are of an analytical mind, you'll quickly see all the amazing features adding up on this Bourgeois OMC. Our consignor followed his heart to all-mahogany builds, which means that you get to enjoy this superlative instrument, 100% hand crafted in Lewiston, ME!
Flowery language aside, this is just one of those great, great Bourgeois OMs that has everything going for it, particularly if fingerstyle or exotic hardwoods get your heart racing. This is a cutaway Orchestra Model in the DB Signature style, which includes special herringbone purfling, highly flamed koa binding, gold Waverly tuners with snakewood buttons and a Cocobolo heel cap. The top and braces are torrefied Aged Tone Adirondack spruce, renowned for over a decade now for making new guitars sound and feel broken in, while also having more dimensional stability than normally seasoned top woods. The back and sides have eye-popping figured Cocobolo, the stuff that keeps you awake at night.
Long 25 1/2" scale with 1 3/4" nut and 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle. The bridge and fingerboard are dark black ebony. The mahogany neck has a comfy mod V profile and satin finish.
There is but one thing keeping this from being perfect: it has the wrong tonewood written on the label!! It is listed as Madagascar on the label, but this link confirms Cocobolo (as if we didn't know). You can also see anything else you like on the spec sheet by following that link.
Condition is excellent with no issues whatsoever. Includes original hard case. No trades, sorry!
