(NEW OLD STOCK, MINT!) Our friend and local luthiery hero Chuck Baleno surprised us last week with a couple of his new old stock instruments, guitars that he has kept close to his shop to be able to show customers when they want to experience his work... we sold a little 12-fretter last week within a day of listing it, and this week we are happy to present this Orchestra Model from 2016... we say MINT in the condition because this looks nearly perfect for being built four years ago. It has no wear and tear to describe, and comes with the warranty from Mr. Baleno... but we've still been authorized to sell it at about a 10% discount off of our "new" asking price on this model.
This OM has a creamy, tight-grained Carpathian spruce top, and Indian rosewood back/sides. It is long 25.34" scale, with a 1 3/4" compensated nut and 2 1/4" string spacing at the saddle. The neck is a comfortable modified V. Standard upgrades from Mr. Baleno include the enhanced intonation (thanks to the aforementioned compensated nut) stainless steel frets, curly maple bindings and nickel Waverly tuners with ebony buttons. The bridge, fingerboard and pins are all ebony. Includes original hard case.
The sound is warm and rich, but with a good amount of sparkle. You've heard us rave about Baleno guitars for years, and you have to admit that the price has you tempted!
