Kevin Kopp 20th Anniversary K-200 Jr, Port Orford Cedar, English Bog Oak - NEW

(NEW) We've teased this one on social media and let a few close friends behold it in our shop, but now it is finally time to release one of the coolest guitars we've EVER had to the general guitar-loving public!  This Kevin Kopp K-200 Jr is unlike anything else out there, a combination of fascinating materials selection and incredible craftsmanship that will capture your imagination every time you pick it up to play it.

The K-200 Jr is a slightly scaled down 16" version of Kopp's legendary Super Jumbo model, the K-200.  This guitar has a 100+ year old Port Orford Cedar top and English Bog Oak back and sides.  Yes, you read that right!!  We've never played a guitar with this combination before, and it works on every level.  The voice is complex, highly musical and just a bit on the dark/brooding side.  Our first concern with Oak guitars is their weight, and it's no concern at all in this case.  Even being on the bigger side for a flat top, this one weighs in at just under 4lbs 6oz, which is less than it would weigh in rosewood or maple, to be sure.  The fingerboard and bridge are Brazilian rosewood, and the guitar has a stunning full-body leatherburst finish.

As you can see, we asked Kevin to open up the floodgates on the trim for this guitar, and there's ivoroid as far as the eye can see.  The body, neck, peghead, sound hole and rosette all have ivoroid accents, and we've also got triple b/w/b purfling and the extra purfling line inlaid into the face of the guitar.  1 3/4" nut with 2 1/4" string spacing at the saddle.  The short 24 3/4" scale length contributes to the warmth in this guitar's voice.  The mahogany neck has a comfortable C shape.  Large pearl block inlays on the fingerboard, art deco headstock flourish and pearl logo on the headstock.  Tuners are Waverly open gear with ivoroid buttons.

Our friend Tim did the quick demo video for us, and as great as Tim is, it doesn't do this guitar justice!  This guitar has a presence that has to be experienced in person.  Now in his 20th year of building, Kevin Kopp is showing us once again why he's one of the best in the game.  Includes original hard case.
