Collings CW Indian A, Baked Adirondack Spruce, Indian Rosewood, Large Sound Hole - NEW - SOLD

SOLD

(NEW) Who doesn't like a large sound hole dreadnought?  Brought to prominence by the late great Tony Rice and of course Clarence White before him, these distinctive boxes are known for splitting wall-rumbling power with more refined tonal complexity.  They aren't mere 'Bone copies, they have their own nuances and when Bill Collings decided to put his stamp on it... watch out!

This superlative CW model is tricked out with baked (torrefied) Adirondack spruce, kiln-treated to advance the cells in the wood and provide uncanny response and a broken-in sound, right out of the box.  We see a lot of torrefied Adi tops, but they are rarely this uniform in color nor this tight-grained... this is a special piece of wood!  Indian rosewood back and sides, also with nice uniform grain, add the overtones and natural reverberation that we crave in a big guitar.

As a CW model, it has standard 1 23/32" nut width, long 25 1/2" scale, and 2 1/4" string spacing on a traditional cut-through saddle.  No fingerboard inlays on the dark ebony board, and ivoroid binding on the body and neck.  Large sound hole and dalmation pick guard complete this distinctive package.  Includes TKL hard case.
