ON HOLD! (NEW) Always a rare and wonderful thing to announce the arrival of a Collings archtop, and the CL Jazz can be counted among the most rare offerings coming out of the Collings shop these days.  These solid wood, fully-carved instruments demand the highest levels of craftsmanship and attention to detail, and as well all know, Collings don't compromise on nuthin!  Our newest CL Jazz will not only blow you away, but might actually float away if you aren't careful... it weighs just 5lbs 6oz.  

At 15" across the lower bout, the CL Jazz is compact for an archtop, but its solid-wood construction and meticulous design mean you can count on a ton of acoustic resonance and just the right amount of sustain.  The top is carved from European spruce, the back and sides from lightweight Honduran mahogany.  A single Johnny Smith humbucker in the neck position is all you need for jazz and fusion tones, and the long 25 1/2" scale keeps things from every sounding flabby.  The nut width is 1 11/16" with a 12" radius ebony fingerboard on a "C" neck.  The ebony pickguard hides tone and volume controls.  

The looks ain't too shabby, either (understatement, much?)  Along with a best-in-biz Amber sunburst, full ABS neck/peghead/f-hole/body binding and ample black/white purfling, broken glass fingerboard inlays and a flared peghead.  Custom-designed ebony tailpiece.  Gotoh tuners with ebony buttons.  Plays just like buttah. It just don’t get mo’ better.
