(USED) This wonderful Collings SoCo Deluxe was originally ordered by our shop to emulate the instrument used by the great Charlie Sexton, longtime guitarist in Bob Dylan's band. The SoCo is a single-cut semi-hollow. They can be ordered in solid wood like this one, or in a laminated configuration. We've got solid all the way here, with a carved European spruce top, painted shiny jet black, and solid carved mahogany back and sides, stained with the distinctive Doghair effect. Combined with deluxe appointments like full-ivoroid binding, split parallelogram fingerboard inlays and house-made ivoroid tuner knobs and pickup rings, it's something of an attention-grabber!
It sounds as good as it looks thanks to a pair of Low-Wind Lollar Imperials. The nut is 1 11/16" and this has Collings original '59 Electric C neck carve. Condition is stellar, with basically no fret wear and no structural issues of any kind. There is a tuner impression in the lacquer of the headstock, seen when it is turned to the right light. This doesn't have any bearing on sound or playability, of course.
Priced with Ameritage hard case, though Calton upgrades are available. Please inquire!
