(USED) The Collings CW is all about raw picking power, it has a powerful and highly articulate voice that makes it the king of any bluegrass jam, but it will also hit the back rafters at a country show and record wonderfully in the studio. This large soundhole dreadnought is meant in all ways to pay tribute to the Tony Rice/Clarence White guitar that we've all heard about for years, and it is one of the few models in the Collings universe that has very tightly restricted options. The top and braces must always be Adirondack spruce, the nut width must always be 1 23/32" and the saddle must always be the traditional cut-through style. The fingerboard must have no inlay, but it must be bound. The pick guard must be "dalmation" pattern. Fortunate for us, this guitar is available in both mahogany and rosewood, and this one is the latter.
So what else you wanna know?? The string spacing at the saddle is 2 1/4", it is Collings' standard long 25 1/2" scale length. This one has herringbone top trim, a 2-ring rosette to accommodate that big sound hole and the mahogany neck has a modified V profile. Condition here is outstanding for a 22 year old guitar, the top has almost taken on a varnish color over the years. No cosmetic or structural issues of any kind and includes original hard case.
