SOLD – (USED) Collings OM1A Varnish, Adirondack Top, Mahogany Back and Sides – SOLD

(USED) The Orchestra Model is an inarguably great fingerstyle guitar, as most players know.. but Collings takes it to another level with their OM1A.  Mahogany back and sides deliver a strong fundamental, and Adirondack spruce, long considered the holy grail of tone woods, has unlimited headroom and a tonal complexity that isn’t found in other spruces.  When you add Collings’ thin varnish finish, you get a guitar that is loud, proud, and lightning-quick to respond to dynamic playing.  The combination of all of these things also takes this OM1A Varnish out of the realm of being a strict fingerpicking machine, it will be equally at home with flatpicking, heavy strumming, fiddle tunes, you name it.  Perhaps the most versatile instrument available.

This gently used example sold new at our store and was fastidiously cared for.  Other than some faint pick marks on the dalmatian pick guard, you would never know it had been played.  No discernible fret wear to speak of, no dings or scratches.  Certainly no cracks.

Specs, then: 1 3/4″ nut, 2 3/16″ string spacing at the saddle, full 25.5″ scale length.  Fully tortoise-bound body, neck and peghead.  Waverly open-back tuners.  This guitar would list for $7,775 and sell in our store for about $7K if ordered today.  This one is next to new, for a lot less!

Includes original TKL hardshell case.
