(NEW) Waterloo WL-S Deluxe Stella, Sitka, Cherry, Varnish – SOLD

(NEW) The Waterloo line has been hugely popular, and it’s no surprise. The look and sound of charming depression-era guitars meets the craftsmanship of Bill Collings and his team, what could be better?

The WL-S Deluxe is the most ambitious Waterloo yet, packed with great vintage details and an impressive sound. The cosmetic differences vs the standard WL-S are pretty obvious, as the Deluxe version has extensive marquetry purfling, neck and peghead binding and more elaborate fingerboard inlay. Importantly, the Deluxe also has a hand-rubbed varnish finish, giving it a semi-gloss look and a smooth feel. Theoretically, the varnish should give the WL-S Deluxe a more opened up sound (vs the lacquer standard version) but they sound almost identical to our ears. The Stella is ladder-braced, but has a sweeter sound than many X-braced guitars.

This guitar features a select spruce top, Cherry back and sides, rosewood fingerboard and peghead overlay, ebony pyramid bridge and is fully bound in ivoroid. 1 3/4″ nut with 2 3/8″ string spacing at the saddle, and a scale length of 24.9″. The body is just larger than parlour-sized, measuring just 14 1/8″ at the widest part of the lower bout. There is no truss rod, the neck is reinforced with carbon fiber.

Comes with Waterloo-branded TKL hardshell case.
