Collings guitars are made in Austin, Texas, and are arguably the finest steel string guitars being built today and are quite likely tomorrow's collectible instruments. They exhibit remarkable craftsmanship, and offer exceptional playability, stability, responsiveness, volume and punch. We keep a wide and varied inventory, and fill a LOT of special orders, but Collings guitars sell through here very quickly. We particularly like their mahogany, maple, koa, and Brazilian rosewood guitars and their use of Adirondack and German spruce, but honestly, they seem incapable of building a bad guitar. We've done our homework and listened, listened, listened, and really know what makes these guitars tick. Collings guitars just fly out of here (over 100 Collings instruments sold in 2006). We have a special fondness for koa guitars, particularly those topped with good German spruce. So we present our first 2008 Collings OM1koa-G. Just a perfectly clean basic OM1 enhanced by richly flamed koa back and sides, and that melodious German spruce top. 1 and 3/4" nut width of course. We believe that is because most people have never played a good maple guitar. They've too many brand G and brand T maples that have let them down. Sit down and play a maple Collings sometime! Collings	C10Mh hog top custom camper Deep Body	Just arrived and just look at her!! (NEW) We get to see a lot of mighty cool custom Collings guitars here. We've had C-10 guitars in just about every flavor. We decided to throw the kitchen sink at this one, because we love this guitar model and it seems to work on so many levels. So here we go: A custom C-10 DEEP body MAHOGANY topped guitar with the modified-V OM style neck and square headstock. Did we stop there? Of course not - a guitar like this needs the FULL BODY VINTAGE SUNBURST. Did we stop there? Silly question. We had them build it light and use a BRAZILIAN rosewood fingerboard and bridge for tone and cool factor on this puppy. Stop there? Never! We added full body, neck, and headstock binding in tortoise with some additional purfling on the fingerboard. Collings	OOO3BaaaGss custom Brazilian German VARNISH	Just arrived and just amazing (NEW) A certain melancholy overcomes us as we greet our last ten or twelve Collings Brazilians. As you know by now, there will be no more. These orders, placed several years ago for fine AAA Brazilian guitars, are a weekend at the World Series for us, they are the highlight of our daze. As the media predicts the tenth recession of the last three, and cynics accuse us of driving the price of Brazilian through the roof, we ponder these rare and precious great guitars and smaller issues dissipate with the melting snow. We present this lightly crafted *classic* OOO Collings in AAA grade Brazilian rosewood with the lovliest of German spruce tops, a SHORT SCALE, a pryamid bridge, a slotted headstock with 1 and 3/4" nut width and the three on a tree bronze Waverly tuners. Did we fail to mention the abalone rosette, the CW pickguard, and that sonic soup, that surreal syrup of sound, the Collings VARNISH finish? This is a custom CJ *deluxe* in flame maple with sitka spruce top and SHORT SCALE, tortoise binding on the body, neck, and headstock, abalone rosette, flourish on the headstock, ebony knobs on nickel Waverlies, and 1 and 3/4" nut width. The last one looked like this and was a loose cannon with room filling warmth. This O-2 "hold the H" (no herringbone) is a custom model with German spruce top, 1 and 3/4" nut width, pyramid bridge, and that famous and fabulous Collings sunburst. This small guitar, and it is a small guitar, packs a powerful loose punch and has fat trebles and sustain which will ruin you for larger guitars. It also has a very full low end. Collings	C10Mh custom	Just Arrived and Just killer!! (NEW) Moe confesses a particular affection for the hardwood topped all-mahogany guitar. Face it, very few of Moe's customers have just one guitar, and we don't generally recommend a hog-top guitar as one's primary axe, but for the special purpose, blues, open tuning, ragtime, cranium re-booting, fresh idea guitar - a Hog Top can be a fresh breeze, a plateau buster, and a wakeup call. Now, the varnish is a thinner finish and if you are one of those folks (you know who you are) who looks at these amazing Collings guitars with a magnifying glass for the slightest variation or "flaw", if you are looking for polished glass and impossibly perfect and level finish thickness, the varnish finish is not for you. Real humans apply this stuff and it's quite organic and labor intensive. Having said that, Collings is known to exceed human standards and as varnish finishes go, we've not seen one finer. That Collings guy, he doesn't settle, and neither should you. Tone? This thing makes grown men cry. Oh, stop yer wining. Does the varnish make a difference? Of course it does. Is it worth it? Collings	SJ custom EIRW German	Just arrived (NEW) We have a deep respect for the Collings SJ model. Every day our phone rings, and it is (generally) a guy complaining about the fact that he just turned fifty and his shoulder hurts when he plays his dreadnought. He's generally on the hunt for an OM or some custom deep OM that will make him forget his dreadnought. Try as we do, it's difficult to build an OM that fills that need. We find however that a good SJ (tight waisted like and OM but a full 16" in the lower bout) can provide the solution. Based on the J-185 shape, it has a fuller midrange than a dreadnought and can be a very effective flatpicker as well as a fingerstyle or strumming guitar. A mighty fine rock and roll guitar as well. Remember rock and roll? A good SJ can be a little bit old school and they look hot. This one is built with Indian Rosewood and German spruce, a delightful combination, and has a cutaway and a very pretty Western shade top. Collings	SoCo Deluxe Premium Quilt	Just arrived (NEW) This will be a SoCo Deluxe to match our premium quilt City Limits. Dramatically quilted top in what Collings is now calling their "Root Beer" color. It is a difficult color to photograph. It's a bright overcast day here and the natural light (outdoor) photos make the guitar look darker and less figured than it is. The indoor photos with flash tend to exaggerate the brightness. The #3 and #4 pics look most natural on my computer screen. #5 is clearly over-exposed to show the intensity of the quilt, but it is an inaccurate representation of the color as a result. The overall visual appeal of the instrument is subtle and elegant. It is not *over the top* like certain PRS Ten tops can be, if you know what I mean. The figured Brazilian fretboard is quite impressive, as is the streaked ebony headstock overlay. Marvelous guitar, of course.	SOLD

Collings	City Limits Deluxe Amber flame	Just arrived and just about perfect! (NEW) Face it, all Collings guitars are great. They just are. But some have a certain "wow" factor when the case is first opened and they suck the oxygen right out of the room. THIS is such a guitar. It's a high flame (and we mean FLAME) City Limits Deluxe in amber sunburst. It's a delicious inferno of flame and parallelogram. We were forwarned: Collings told us this one was in the top 10% tonally. We suspect that is because of the ultra light weight (just 7.7 pounds) and a perfect alignment of the stars. It's magnificent to look at, with highly figured Brazilian rosewood fretboard and that gorgeous amber burst. But the SOUND!! Rip me a new one, already! We think they look cool, and well, trying to look cool is why we started playing guitar in the first place! Collings	290 Creme	Just arrived! (NEW)Just purchased at the 2008 NAMM Show in Los Angeles, this custom Collings 290 is a creme color. Not quite white, has a certain vintage inspired coloration. Not translucent like the TV Yellow guitars, this one is solid creme with black pickup covers and pearloid pickguard and peghead veneer. Great looking Texas Twang rock and roll guitar. Collings	O3A	(USED) Our first trade-in involving a Collings O model, and a what dandy "O" she is! As "parlor" guitars go, this one is suitable for a mighty fine parlor. This is a "3" series guitar for which Collings reserves his finest woods (very nice East Indian rosewood and Adirondack spruce in this case) with the vintage Martin style torch on the headstock, full ivoroid binding, gold Waverlies, abalone rosette, and a 1 and 3/4" nut width. The ultimate short scale sofa or porch swing guitar. The songwriter's guitar. Easy going and gorgeous. Essentially new and unscathed she is, this lightly "used" remarkable small guitar. Collings	OM3MhGss custom	Just arrived (USED) MORE GOOD STUFF. This is one of those lightly built short scale Collings OM guitars built for the fingerstyle player. A very recent (serial # 13234) warm and super responsive style three mahogany OM topped with beautiful German spruce, 1 and 3/4" nut width, abalone rosette, gold Waverlies, pyramid bridge, no pickguard, and that certain something in the way she moves me. A very light fingerstyle OM, this is a guitar model that we know well and we are delighted that it will be here ON CONSIGNMENT. A very smart man told me recently that German topped Collings guitars, when capoed at the seventh fret, have the projection and timbre of a fine mandolin. We like the sound of that. Collings	D1AV sunburst	Just arrived (USED) MORE GOOD STUFF. This is one of our custom Collings D1A guitars. We sold it new last year, and brother she's open for business. D1A V (Vintage Now neck) with 1 and 3/4" nut width, Adirondack spruce with Adirondack braces, no tongue brace, and a gorgeous style one sunburst. The D1A is our best selling model, we know them well, and this is one very fine example in close to mint condition and we are delighted that it will be here ON CONSIGNMENT.
