Based upon a classic 1903 Fairbanks Whyte Laydie No.2, this great-sounding open back banjo features a 10-3/4″ diameter, 5/16″ thick maple rim with double-tortoise bound inner wall, maple neck with ebony center strip & heel cap, ivoroid-bound ebony fretboard with engraved diamonds (plus star at 5th and scroll at 1st fret) pearl inlays, ~25-5/8″ scale, 1-1/4″ wide bone nut, Whyte Laydie tone ring, 28 brackets with bracket band, grooved tension hoop, Eastman (Renaissance) head, no-knot tailpiece, ebony capped 1/2″ maple bridge, geared pegs with pearloid buttons, nickel hardware and genuine varnish finish.
It is hard to believe that a banjo in this price range can sound so good, and be so accurate in appointments. Our hats are off to Eastman for this very impressive instrument!
