Our pal Rob Bishline boldly enters the open-back banjo market with a clean and KILLER offering, the “OAKIE” banjo.
We are very excited. This is a fine, fine handcrafted banjo with all the fit-and-finish we’ve come to expect from Bishline with clean lines, satin finish, superb playability and wonderful bright and plucky tone. It has aged brass parts, Dobson brass tone ring, Gotoh tuners, frailing scoop, African ebony headstock veneer, very traditional pearl inlay and a simple but brilliant mahogany armrest!
This thing is a slam dunk, and a steal at $1,795 (WITH CASE) if you are ready to engage in some legal-larceny and some high level banjo picking, I dare say we’ve got your banjo!
So while this is Rob’s first entrée into the clawhammer banjo world. You and I know there will be more to come. This is, as banjos go, fairly basic with single coordinator rod, No-Knot tailpiece, and simple tasteful inlay. I’ll just bet he’s got some real nice ideas for additional models and features. Time will tell. In the meantime, YOU should get on over here and play this banjo. It will make you a better person.
This thing practically plays itself and at $1,795, this banjo represents an INCREDIBLE value. Includes a Guardian brand case. We cannot say enough good things about these. This is our FIFTH Oakie, and they have been selling as fast as they arrive!
