(USED, EX+) Over the last couple years, we’ve been enjoying torrefied Adirondack spruce on many of our our traditional dreadnought builds, from a variety of shops… and we think Huss & Dalton does “cooked” Adi as well as anyone! Thermo-cured Adirondack spruce, simply put, helps the guitar to be louder and more responsive, with a played-in tone that evokes the monster pre-war guitars that are so rare to find (and afford) these days.
We sold this one new less than a year ago, and we’re happy to have it back on trade. Like we said, this guitar has a beautiful, wide-grained “cooked” Adi top, but the real feast for the eyes comes in the form of vivid Cocobolo back (complete with sapwood) and sides, plus matching Cocobolo bridge, fingerboard and headcap.
If you are looking to be the loudest guitar in the jam, this beast will get you there… rivals even the most opened-up of Brazilian boxes! It’s more guitar than most mortals will ever need, but this guitar isn’t for most mortals… it is for the most discerning tone junky, the player who yearns for a powerful traditional voice with modern clarity, projection and playability. This guitar is all that, again and again, in spades.
The nut width on this instrument is 1 3/4″ and the string spacing at the saddle is 2 1/4″. The top has herringbone trim and the guitar is bound head to toe in ivoroid. Traditional torch in loo of the H&D logo helps to make this one of the prettiest dreads in the shop. No fretwear, no cracks or scratches.
Comes with original TKL case, also in EX+ condition.
