(USED) Some of our very favorite Indian rosewood dreadnoughts have German spruce tops, and Collings understands this tonewood combination very well indeed. The German spruce, being typically stiffer than Sitka, brings a focus to the overtones inherent in the rosewood, so the resulting guitar is loud and warm, but also very articulate with just a dash of complexity. The top on this guitar is flawless!
The “Vintage Now” neck is Collings’ “in between” size, beefier than their standard modified “V” but smaller than the “Vintage” carve. Compared to the mod “V” it has a little fatter shoulder and has a bit more mass overall, which we and Collings believe contributes to the tone. Collings’ new Traditional models have a neck very similar to this carve. This guitar has a 1 3/4″ nut and string spacing of 2 5/16″ at the saddle.
Cosmetics include diamond and square fingerboard inlays, ivoroid binding and b/w/b purfling (no herringbone on this one). The guitar is as clean as they come, with no scratches, dings or fret wear. Includes original TKL hardshell case.
