These are incredibly light and responsive guitars, and through some internal engineering (abbreviated tongue brace, ramped rather than scalloped bracing) and some structural decisions that favor a slightly mellower sound (Wenge fingerboard and bridge, short scale) the CJ-35 is a perfect distillation of the CJ sound into a guitar that loves to be strummed, sung along with or fingerpicked.
This particular guitar comes to us in EX++ condition, not a mark on it. It has a nice wide-grained Sitka top that has yellowed only slightly since the guitar was built, and the requisite mahogany back and sides that are on all CJ-35 models. The neck is essentially Collings’ “Vintage Now” profile, with 1 3/4″ nut and 2 5/16″ string spacing at the saddle. No pick marks or fret wear to speak of, this one is as clean as they come!
The CJ-35 has a satisfying rumble but also is perfectly articulate in the mids and highs, making it a wonderful all ’rounder. It has been a hugely successful and popular guitar for us over the last three years.
Comes with original Collings TKL hardshell case, also in excellent condition.
