(USED) Collings 000-41, Adirondack, Brazilian Rosewood, Excellent Sound! – SOLD

(USED) “What’s the best guitar in your shop right now?”  It’s a question that we get on an almost daily basis, and as guitar geeks with wide and variegated tastes, we usually end up unable to pick a dozen favorites, never mind just one particular guitar… BUT… all that said, if you call us today and ask that question, this stunning 000-41 will leap immediately to mind.  This one is a treasure.

Built in 2004, this instrument has a gorgeous Adirondack spruce top and highly figured Brazilian rosewood back and sides.  An elegant cosmetics package includes abalone top border and rosette, fully ivoroid-bound body, neck and peghead, long-pattern snowflake inlays on the fingerboard and a flowerpot inlayed on the Brazilian rosewood peghead veneer.  There is a style “3” marquetry backstrip and gold Waverly tuners.  The nut width is 1 3/4″ with string spacing at the saddle of 2 1/4″ and Collings’ standard modified “V” neck profile.  Spec-wise, awfully hard to argue with!

But impossible to argue with is the SOUND.  This is God’s own 000.  The Adirondack top is completely open and rich sounding, and the volume rivals anything in the store.  The playability is like butter.

There are a handful of dings, one on the top in the lower bout and a few tiny ones peppering the sides.  There is also a small chip in the back corner of the peghead, and some light pick marks on the pick guard.  The frets have only the faintest wear.

For those asking to be called when something special arrives, consider yourself CALLED!  An exemplary instrument that won’t last long.  A finer guitar we could not ask for!
