SOLD – (USED) Circa 1980 Gallagher 72 Special, Sitka, Rosewood Dreadnought – Lower Price – SOLD

(USED) Here is a guitar that has some stories to tell!  This Gallagher dread has been all over the world as the primary tool of a professional touring folk musician… now it’s ready to take on new life in someone else’s capable hands.

It looks the part, that’s for sure… dozens of dings and scratches and ample finish wear reveal that this guitar has been played and played hard.  Amazingly, it has no cracks or serious structural issues to report other than bridge plate wear and many, many visible miles. The bridge was re-glued in our shop, and the guitar has a fresh setup.  The neck on this instrument was slimmed at some point, and the profile is a very fast modified “V”.  It also appears that the fingerboard has been planed (presumably to forestall a neck reset) and the frets show some wear under the B string in the first position. It’s a fancy guitar, as Gallaghers go, but it’s no longer a show-horse. It’s a work-horse.

1 11/16″ nut width with 2 1/4″ string spacing at the saddle, white plastic binding with abalone top border purfling and rosette.  Endpin drilled for a previous pickup (currently plugged) and strap button installed at the heel. 9-volt battery clip attached to heel block. Includes hardshell case (also road-worn).
