(USED) Just arrived on consignment, an early Aged Tone OM from Bourgeois. Dana and Co. changed everything in the guitar world a few years back when they introduced tonewood torrefaction in their high end acoustics. The process thermally treats the wood to cook out the sugars, pitch and other volatiles right at the beginning, crystalizing the resins and making the top much more like that of a vintage instrument… and this is reflected in the sound and quick response of the finished guitar.
This OM has very pretty Madagascar rosewood back and sides with great landscaping, the likes of which we’re seeing less and less nowadays. Madrose has a more complex tonal quality than East Indian rosewood, due to its higher density, which puts it closer to the Brazilian end of the sound spectrum. It is getting increasingly rare, becoming more pricey in the process.
This guitar has an Aged Tone Adirondack top, Adirondack braces and hide glue construction, and also features Dana’s specially developed super-thin Aged Tone finish. Full 25.5″ scale with 1 23/32″ nut and 2 5/16 string spacing at the saddle. There is an LR Baggs Lyric pickup installed, along with a strap button in the correct location.
The condition is excellent, with only slight fret wear under the B string and light pick marks on the pick guard.
ON CONSIGNMENT, NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE!
