(USED) A well loved Orchestra Model that left the Collings shop in August of 1999, this wonderful guitar has been very well taken care of. Hardly any fret wear and just a few superficial dings, this instrument is in exceptional condition for its age, and the best part is that it’s completely opened up and sounds GREAT! The only structural issue of note is a (nearly invisible) repaired crack in the top from the edge of the fingerboard extension to the top of the soundhole (missed our inspection first time around).
Sitka spruce top (nicely darkened with time) and East Indian rosewood back and sides. This is a “3 Style” or OM3, which comes with a bound neck and peghead, marquetry backstrip, gold Waverly tuners, no fretboard markers and an abalone rosette. Full 25.5″ scale with 1 3/4″ nut width.
The guitar has exceptional warmth but retains all the mid-range sparkle that Collings are known for. This one is a peach!
