(NEW) Pleinview Guitars Orchestra Model, German Spruce, Sacha RW – SOLD

(NEW) There’s a little workshop in the back of our store, where AMW luthier Raymond Morin and his partner Adam Rousseau build Pleinview Guitars.  They’ve got a few dozen under their belt at this point, and this latest is a custom OM, with German spruce top and Peruvian “Sacha” rosewood back and sides.

We love German spruce on softer rosewoods, it seems to help bring balance and focus to the overtones.  Sacha guitars have a sound more reminiscent of koa, or a koa/mahogany blend, with a slightly quieter voice than an equivalent EIR build.  This is fine by us, and Sacha guitars have been popular with fingerstyle players and light strummers, folks who prefer a complex and dynamic sounding instrument but favor pretty tone to bite and projection.

1 3/4″ nut, 2 3/16″ string spacing at the saddle, full 25.4″ scale length with ebony fingerboard, bridge and pins.  Custom low profile, modified V neck carve.  Striking figured ebony peghead overlay, nicely complemented by ebony Waverly tuners.  Cocobolo binding and rosette ring, b/w/b purfling and chevron back strip.  Adirondack braces, hot hide glue construction.

Sorry folks, sold to a nice fellow in Massachusetts!
