SOLD – (NEW) Collings OM1A Traditional, Adirondack Spruce, Mahogany – SOLD

(NEW) As you are probably becoming aware, we are in love with the new Traditional models from Collings!  These guitars combine the perfect construction, fit and finish of the standard line and add a few subtle tweaks to create a slightly warmer, more vintage-inspired voice.  Volume-wise, bass-wise, the T-series guitars seem to be a cut above.  Like I said, we LOVE EM.

This Orchestra Model is Collings’ take on the classic pre-war OM-18, and as such it has the best available Adirondack spruce on the top.  The braces are Sitka (used on all Traditional models) and there is no tongue brace, allowing a little more movement in the upper bout.  Mahogany means a stronger fundamental tone, somewhat dry and woody but with strong, singing trebles.  The T-series guitars seem to possess some lovely additional overtones in the higher registers, almost akin to a subtle reverb, and it’s a beautiful sound.

The newly developed Traditional neck carve is based on Collings’ Vintage Now shape, it’s beefier than their standard mod-V and has a rounder shoulder.  The nut is 1 3/4″ and string spacing at the saddle is 2 5/16″.  Animal protein glue construction and a very thin lacquer finish also contribute to the warmer tone.  Scale length is 25.5″.

Comes prices with Collings’ impressive vintage-style hardshell case, fits like a glove, weighs less and better balance than the TKL cases being used before 2017.

This is a killer OM that can hold its own with anything out there!
