The CJ-35 has become one of Collings’ most popular guitars, thanks to its light build and more traditionally inspired sound. Collings achieves this sound through careful selection of materials, and with a number of under the hood modifications to his normal CJ specs. Firstly, the Adirondack bracing is tapered rather than scalloped, the guitar is short scale and has an abbreviated (small) tongue brace. For the fretboard and bridge lightweight wenge are used, and the cosmetics are very simple. Ivoroid binding, bridge pins and tuner buttons.
We call this Collings’ “meat n’ potatoes” guitar, a warm sounding strummer with plenty of volume that also has an extremely satisfying thump when fingerpicked.
This guitar is the first with a black top! Comes with original Collings TKL case.
