(VINTAGE) 1959 Martin D-28 Brazilian Rosewood Dreadnought – SOLD

(JUST ARRIVED, USED) We’re very pleased to have the opportunity to once again represent this great old Martin!

Very good (7.5 – 8 of 10) condition. Nice birth-year Brazilian D-28 for that 55 year-old big kid you have been dating. Very nice heavily spider-webbed old orange-brown Brazilian rosewood. Pro-repaired (cleated)  top crack and repaired pick guard crack. Cut thru saddle, GROVER nickel Rotomatic tuners, medium-high bluegrass action (9/64″) with 2/32″ of saddle showing. Good solid late 50’s sound (non-scalloped braces, maple bridge plate, rear-shifted X brace. Great looking old Brazilian.

Tonally, well developed, articulate Ka-changg with plenty of sizzle and a well-behaved Martin bottom end.

A “player’s” D-28 with many years of life left in her.

Lots of scratches and dings, (but nothing currently structural) and plenty of mojo and character, minimal fret wear. Bone nut and saddle, nickel strap button. Strong D28. With original Blue Martin case. The case has one malfunctioning latch (needs a pin) and is missing its closure strap (easy fixes, both.)
